The main advantage of the mobile app is the ability to download 3D presentations directly to your device. This eliminates downloading relatively large files with 3D presentations each time you view them, and most importantly, you can display 3D presentations even without an internet connection, which often happens during castle trips. Weak signal in remote locations won't stop you anymore!
GPS location works better in the mobile app than in the web version. You'll see your current position directly on the 3D model of the monument and can easily orient yourself to see what's around you. You'll see your position from a bird's eye view and easily navigate the terrain.
For castle ruins, of which not much remains today, you can view their appearance in their original state. Combined with GPS location, you can "travel back in time" and walk through castle ruins while seeing on your mobile what the surroundings looked like many centuries ago. Combine 3D models showing the current state of the monument with models of its historical appearance (such as from the 13th or 15th century).
In the field, when visiting a castle for example, you can play an audio guide, walk freely around the castle while listening to descriptions of individual parts of the monument. Interactive labels on the 3D model and panoramic scenes display information points of important parts of the monument in the form of text labels with audio accompaniment or photographs.
